I want to be a security guard, what training do I need?

The door supervisor training and subsequent licence permits candidates to work in both Door Supervisor roles and General Security. Visit the SIA website Licence Integration section, where there is a chart explaining the relevent roles available to work for each licence.

How long does the course last?

All of the SIA training courses we offer, require the candidate to attend 30 guided learning hours. This is generally delivered over a period of 4 days. The courses cand be broken up into smaller sections and delivered over more days and with some of our training partners they can be even condensed into longer days in order to get the course fiited over a long weekend..

What happens after I complete my training?

Once your training, then you will sit a multiple choice exam for each module. This will consist of a number of questions, with a possibility of between 3 and 4 possible correct answers, you simply choose the most appropriate answer. The exams are invigilated by an independant person and then sent off to an awarding body to be marked. ASET, BIIAB and NOCN are the main awarding bodies. It takes anything from a couple of days up until several weeks for the results to be released, as a guide we generally see results between one and two weeks. Once you have received your results you can then apply to the SIA through this link for your licence.

When will my account be debited?

We charge the card at the point the course booking is placed and send you an email to confirm your course details.

How will I know my course booking has been received?

Upon receipt of your order an email confirmation will be sent to the email address provided. Please keep this email safe, as it will contain your order reference number and other details.

Is it easy to cancel my course booking?

Of course it is. Please contact us by telephone, letter, fax, or email within seven working days after you placed your booking. We will arrange a refund to your credit card .

Reimbursement will be made to the purchasers credit/debit card account within 14 days after we are in receipt of your cancellation.
