Fire Awareness Instructors Course

 

This course is designed to enable the successful candidate to facilitate in-house Fire Awareness Courses and Fire Marshal Courses. It includes an introduction to Fire Risk Assessment in accordance with the new Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety 2005). The course is run over three days and covers two essential areas:

·        In-depth fire knowledge-designed to give students the extra knowledge to enable them to train effectively

·        Teaching and training practice

Over the three days students will complete fire training to Fire Marshal level, to provide a good grounding in the subject matter.

In addition students will receive training and advice in delivering fire courses. Students will also deliver a minimum of one practical and one theory session each during the course. This will be assessed, and feedback given to the potential instructor, by a senior member of Aid Training.

 

 

Upon successful completion students will be qualified to train their staff in the following subjects:

·               Causes of workplace fires                              

·               The fire triangle

·               Action in the event of fire

·               Fire fighting

·               Fire extinguishers      

·               Practical fire extinguishing

·               The fire action plan

·               The role and duties of the Fire Marshal

·               An overview of fire risk assessment

·               An overview of fire warning system



 

 

Due to the nature of the course it is recommended, but not essential, that students attending have a:

·        Training qualification and/or experience

·        Background in health and safety

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The cost of this course when attending an “open” course is £411.25 per student. This covers certification, manuals, tea/coffee and lunch. Please note that it does not include any meals, other than lunch, and accommodation.

 

The cost of this course is £2350 for up to 10 students when run at your venue. Additional students are charged at £177 per person. This includes certification and manuals for each student.
